Bezos lost approximately $10 billion dollars in 2019 after he divorced his wife, MacKenzie Bezos. According to the terms of the divorce, MacKenzie will hold a 4 percent stake in Amazon, which brings her total net worth to $48.5 billion.
However, even this substantial setback was not enough to topple Bezos from his place on the top of the billionaire list.
